Best and Worst case record for Louisville football in 2019

Let's take a look at Louisville football.

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Virginia | Miami | Duke | Georgia Tech | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson | Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

Louisville
Louisville wasn’t just bad last year, they were one of the worst ACC teams we’ve seen in the last 30 years. How does new coach Scott Satterfield begin to repair the mess Bobby Petrino left behind? The ACC hasn’t seen a rebuild this big since David Cutcliffe became the head coach at Duke. It took 5 years before Duke had a winning record, so Louisville fans should not expect a quick fix.

Will Go 4-8 (2-6) if:
Scott Satterfield can restore the Cardinal’s football team confidence. The last two months of the season Louisville didn’t play a single opponent within 18 points. If Satterfield can get his team believing they can spring a couple of upsets, they might steal a 1 or 2 games.  With an offense and defense that ranked in the 110s, any marginal improvement would help immensely.

I’m trying to be optimistic, but the schedule is brutal starting with Notre Dame, Clemson, at Miami, at NC State, Syracuse and at Kentucky. If Louisville reaches a bowl, Scott Satterfield should be ACC Coach of the year.

Will Go 1-11 (0-8) if:
Louisville loses to Eastern Kentucky or Western Kentucky. Frankly if the Cardinals can’t win both of those games, you can argue they may not win a game on the schedule. Who are they going to beat? Boston College at home, maybe at Wake Forest? There aren’t many choices.

If the QB situation remains muddled and inconsistent, how is Louisville going to move the ball? A dreadful defense made giving up more than 50 points a game common place last season. What if it doesn’t improve? Louisville could have trouble being competitive, much less winning games.
