Bad new for Steve Donahue and Boston College as Darryl Hicks, an incoming three-star recruit out of Kentucky, tore his ACL in a Indiana-Kentucky All-Star game.
Hicks is an athletic combo guard who loves to knock down a long ball. He was expected to be a solid option off the bench for the Eagles behind Joe Rahon and Olivier Hanlan.
Luckily for Boston College, they have some solid depth in the backcourt with junior Lonnie Jackson and incoming transfer Alex Dragicevich, as well as Danny Rubin, so it’s not like losing Hicks is a season-killer.
I’m not a doctor, so I can’t say with too much certainty when Hicks will return, but traditionally ACL tears take time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Donahue goes ahead and redshirts Hicks for this coming season.
