The higher seeds in Notre Dame's region include North Carolina, Xavier, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana. The Irish have to like their chances in the first round but a win would welcome a matchup against a fast and deep West Virginia team that just lost to Kansas in the Big 12 Championship.
