The Orange may be without Tyler Lydon against St. John’s.
Syracuse Orange sophomore forward Tyler Lydon will be a game-time decision for Wednesday’s game against St. John’s, according to SU men’s basketball spokesman Pete Moore.
It was first reported by the Daily Orange.
Lydon suffered a strained right Achilles in Monday’s 105-57 victory over Eastern Michigan. He scored 12 points in 16 minutes.
The injury came just two days after Lydon scored a career-high 29 points against Georgetown on 12-of-13 shooting .
Moore also said that Lydon will be limited in practice on Tuesday, but will perform a light workout.
After Monday’s game, SU head coach Jim Boeheim didn’t have an update on Lydon’s injury, and said he wasn’t sure on whether he would be available on Wednesday.
Lydon’s injury comes at a difficult time for the Orange, as it looked like the star forward was finding his groove offensively. In his last two games, he’s been more aggressive and his numbers have drastically improved.
Once we hear his status for Wednesday, we’ll be sure to provide an update.
