Junior cornerback Brian Walker has decided to leave the football program, Larry Fedora announced during his weekly Monday press conference. Fedora indicated Walker's decision had to do with playing time.

"I think he's interested in finding a place where maybe he can get more playing time," Fedora says of Brian Walker.

Walker had 12 tackles, 5 pass break-ups in seven games this season. He had primarily been used as a nickelback in UNC defensive scheme and has largely been supplanted at cornerback by Des Lawrence, M.J.,Stewart and Malik Simmons.
Back in July, Walker tweeted that the expectation for this season was 10 wins or more.
Last season Walker was suspended for the season opener as part of the Aloft Hotel incident in training camp. He returned the next week to intercept two passes in a 31-27 win over San Diego State including one Walker returned100 yards for a touchdown.
