The Wake Forest football team had a shortened practice session on Saturday night, in anticipation of tomorrow afternoon's scrimmage. Fans are welcome to come out to BB&T Field tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. to check out the team in action. The players are not scheduled to arrive until 4:55 p.m., so it will be closer to 5:20 p.m. when the scrimmage portion begins. Here are some quick observations from tonight's practice.
- John Wolford continued to get the first team reps in both drills and 11-on-11 situations. His proportion of reps steadily increased throughout the week, and it continues to look like he will start in the season opener against ULM. Wolford looked good for the most part, but he did have one pass batted at the line by Josh Banks and was ultimately intercepted by Zachary Allen.
- Defensive tackle Josh Banks had a solid practice and had a number of solid moves during defensive line vs. offensive line drills.
- This practice continued to place an emphasis on situational football. Today's situation involved a two-minute drill at the end of the first half.
We hope to see you all out at BB&T Field tomorrow evening. We should have plenty of reaction following the first scrimmage.
