Boom.
Louisville basketball’s recent hot streak on the recruiting trail continued Friday night when Trinity star David Johnson announced his intentions to play for the Cardinals. Johnson is currently ranked as the 29th-best overall player in the class of 2019 by Scout.com.
"I chose Louisville because I love the style of play I think it fits me well," Johnson told Scout. "It's my hometown team so I know they’ll show lots of love. Also Rick Pitino is an amazing coach and I can’t wait to play for him."
Johnson made his commitment while in the middle of an unofficial visit to U of L. He plans to attend Louisville’s home football game against Clemson on Saturday night along with a number of Pitino’s other top targets. Among that group is class of 2018 superstar Romeo Langford from New Albany.
Johnson becomes the second Trinity player in the last four years to commit to Louisville, joining current Cardinal junior Ray Spalding.
