Since the opener against Youngstown State, Pitt has found itself as the underdog in its last three contests. That changes for this week as the Panthers are heavily favored to defeat Rice at home on Saturday.
The line opened with Pitt favored by 21 1/2 points and while the line has dropped slightly (now at 20 points in most places), the Panthers are still picked to win by quite a bit.
That's expected, obviously. Rice is not a good team and while the Panthers haven't been good, either, they still have significantly more talent and are playing at home to boot.
Like I said earlier this week, a close win won't help keep fans interested in this season. Pitt needs to go out and win comfortably to instill some more hope that this isn't a lost season.
What about the spread? Where would you say it is - too high, too low, or just about right?
