Bilas calls Lamar Patterson among nation's most underappreciated

As I said on Friday, Lamar Patterson is up for the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's player of the year award (The Oscar Robertson Award). The Pitt forward is also drawing some attention from the mainstream media.

ESPN's Jay Bilas is taking notice, and in a recent video feature over on ESPN.com, named Patterson as one of his five most underappreciated players in college basketball.

Patterson's all around game has been impressive this season, and he's most credited for his scoring punch and ability to get the ball in the basket in the paint and all the way out beyond the arc. But the one thing that maybe has impressed me the most is his passing and that's a point that Bilas made as well.

As a team, Pitt passes the ball extremely well. But Patterson, the team's best scorer, is one of the team's best at it. Just a little more national attention for the player that's doing so much for the Panthers.
