WINSTON-SALEM- Per a release from Wake Forest on Monday, redshirt sophomore forward Daniel Green is out indefinitely after re-injuring his right knee. He originally injured the knee in October 2012 during the Deacs' exhibition tour of Canada. He then suffered a setback in July, which eventually warranted surgery. The surgery was performed last week and per the release, Green has already begun rehabbing the knee.
The 6'10 Green was expected to compete for playing time this year on a frontcourt occupied by sophomores Devin Thomas and Arnaud William Adala Moto. Green's injury leaves the door wide open for experienced sophomores Aaron Rountree and Tyler Cavanaugh. Andre Washington, a 7'0 center, has yet to crack the Deacs' rotation but could be a force off the bench.
