The Duke coaches met with the media following practice on Saturday as part of their participation in the NCAA Tournament. A number of the players also took time out of the quick turnaround in preparation for their second game of the tourney as well.
Ryan Kelly and Mason Plumlee were made available in a press conference setting, and you can tell they’re comfortable in this situation as this is their fourth time in the Big Dance. They’ve no doubt been a part of many more interview sessions than this one and will continue to be throughout their basketball careers. The sense of urgency for these two guys is apparent as they have no greater than five games left and could have only one depending on how tomorrow turns out. When questioned as to whether Kelly and had a feeling of desperation, Kelly responded with a line full of passion: “If we lose, we’re done playing basketball for Duke. And we don’t want to accept that.”
