The linebacker depth takes a small hit as it is losing one of its players.
University of Louisville linebacker Finesse Middleton will transfer from the Cardinals program after earning his degree this past May. He majored in communications and graphic design. The decision to transfer is purely based on playing time, something that he saw sparingly in his time here, and that there are no hard feelings on either side. He will be eligible to play right away via the grad transfer rules.
Middleton was recruited by Charlie Strong and enrolled at U of L in January of 2013. He was a three star recruit from Gadsden, Alabama. Some of the schools that are trying to land him are South Alabama, Memphis, Southern Mississippi, Arizona, Arizona State, and UNVL. However, he will more than likely stay away from the West and be closer to home.
While he is leaving the program, he has given high remarks to this 2016 squad:
"Those boys are going to be good," Middleton said. "You have a roster full of talent. The sky’s the limit. With Coach (Bobby) Petrino, they’re liable to go score on anybody anytime with the weapons they've got. ... And the defense has been good for awhile with (defensive coordinator Todd) Grantham. I think they’ll be great."
Best of luck to Middleton!
