For the first time in program history, the Louisville men’s basketball program is the No. 1 team in the AP top 25 poll in back-to-back weeks. Thanks to dominant wins over Michigan and Pittsburgh, the Cards became just the second team in the 2019-20 season to retain their No. 1 ranking for a second time.
U of L received 55 of the 64 first-place votes cast. No. 2 Kansas received four of the other votes for the top spot, while unbeaten and third-ranked Ohio State received the other five. Maryland and Michigan rounded out this week’s top five.
