The official punishments for both incidents have been released by Pitt.

PITTSBURGH—Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi announced that junior wide receiver Tyler Boyd and sophomore defensive lineman Rori Blair will be suspended for the Panthers’ Sept. 5 season opener against Youngstown State.
The one-game disciplinary suspensions were the result of the players being involved in separate offseason legal situations involving motor vehicles.
"In addition to their game suspensions, Tyler and Rori have been, and will continue to be, subject to internal discipline and accountability," Narduzzi said. "The situations were very disappointing and both young men have expressed their regret. Our expectation is that each of them, as well as our entire team, will learn from their mistakes and be better for it moving forward."
Pitt shouldn't (key word being shouldn't) have a problem winning the Youngstown State game without Boyd and Blair (cue reminders of the last time Pitt went into a game against Youngstown State with players suspended). I think this is the perfect amount of punishment for Tyler Boyd. Rori Blair probably deserved at least two games in my opinion, but you never know the type of punishment these guys will be getting behind closed doors. Both have been publicly embarrassed, and Boyd already received his sentence legally speaking.
This may also kill any chance for Tyler Boyd to get the Heisman even if he has a spectacular season, but the Panthers also have another Heisman caliber player on their roster in James Conner. Blair will likely be a starter at defensive end where Pitt is short of talent right now, so getting him back will be a good thing for game two versus Akron.
