With his made three-pointer near the start of last night’s game at Notre Dame, Quentin Snider became Louisville’s 68th all-time 1,000-point scorers. The 68 players to hit four figures in points is second only to North Carolina’s 76.
Quentin put up with criticism before he ever set foot on Louisville’s campus. Some said he wasn’t good enough to play for the Cardinals, others began echoing the belief when he stepped into a starting role late in his freshman season.
The fact of the matter is that Quentin Snider has been a rock for the Louisville basketball program during a period of time where little else has been stable. He’s never been in any sort of trouble, he’s never displayed any sort of attitude issue, and he’s quietly been one of the best point guards in the ACC for three years now. All of that is reflected in the fact that he now resides among the elite of the elite in U of L hoops history.
Snider is the first Louisville basketball player to join the 1,000-point club since Wayne Blackshear did so during the 2014-15 season. Montrezl Harrell also eclipsed the mark that year.
