Erv Phillips is expected to miss three to four weeks after undergoing surgery on his meniscus.
Syracuse Orange hybrid Ervin Phillips got off to an auspicious start in Syracuse's home opener against Rhode Island by scoring two touchdowns in the first half. After sustaining a "lower body injury," Phillips would sit the second half. It would later be determined that the sophomore would have to have surgery on his meniscus. Phillips has since had his surgery and is expected to miss three to four weeks.
Phillips was supplanted by redshirt junior Ben Lewis against Wake Forest on Saturday. Lewis rushed for 17 yards on one carry in his place.
"They're saying probably three to four weeks," Scott Shafer said following the Wake Forest game. "He had a scope procedure done. Cleaned it up. They felt really good about it. So it was actually real good news for me."
Depsite the injury, Phillips seems to be in good spirits.
Minor set back, I'll be back orange nation.

Phillips will give Syracuse a huge boost upon his return. But in the interim, Syracuse Football has once again been bitten by the injury bug.
