Do odds even mean anything anymore?
If we learned anything this week, it’s that odds mean nothing. But we’re going to give them to you anyway.
Last week, the Clemson Tigers were favored by more than three touchdowns over the Syracuse Orange. This week, SU takes on the eighth-ranked Miami Hurricanes, and start off as 13.5-point underdogs.
Miami has had three games either cancelled or postponed this season, but we’re starting to see how good they can be. After Syracuse beat Clemson, the ‘Canes are the favorite to win the ACC.
We know Syracuse can beat the odds, because they did so in outstanding fashion this week. They have covered the spread four times this year, so do with that information what you will.
It’s also worth noting that the Orange haven’t beaten ranked teams in back-to-back games since 1983. The program has also never pulled off back-to-back top 10 wins.
Syracuse is 7-15 all-time against the Hurricanes, with five straight losses. They’ve scored a combined 30 points in those contests, versus 196 for Miami.
