The Clemson Basketball team is taking a trip to Spain this summer, and up until yesterday things were going smoothly.
As you may have heard, Barcelona was the location of a terror attack where 14 were left dead. What you may not have known is that the first attack occurred just outside the hotel that the Clemson team was staying. It just so happens that Oregon State and Arizona were also staying in the same hotel.
Clemson issued the following statement.
"We’ve been in contact with our men’s basketball program currently in Barcelona and the entire travel party is safe and secure. Their exhibition game for tonight has been cancelled, and the team will return to Clemson as previously scheduled tomorrow morning. Our thoughts are with the people of Barcelona."
It's good to hear the team is safe and will travel back on schedule. We do want to extend our thoughts and prayers to those affected by the attack.
Clemson went 3-0 while in Spain.
