Game Recap

Not a good showing.

Wake Forest's defense was not good enough during Saturday's loss at Boston College. The Deacs allowed Boston College to score 79 points, which equated to 1.2 points per possession. Meanwhile, Wake Forest scored just .88 points per possession. Lades and gentlemen, that is how you lose by 18 points.

To me, this game was far worse than Wednesday's embarrassing loss at Duke. Duke is a legitimately excellent team who has an opportunity to win a national title. No offense to Boston College, but Wake should absolutely not lose to a bad B.C. team by this much. Home or away.

Wake got out-rebounded by 6, made just 56% of free throws, and allowed Boston College to shoot 54% overall, including 43% from deep. There's not much else to say other than that it was an unacceptable performance. Wake Forest found themselves down 8 points at halftime. During the first 42 seconds of the second half they had two turnovers and allowed two layups. That's all you need to know about it this game.

Codi Miller-McIntyre scored 24 points came to play in this one, but I cannot say the same about the others on the team. Dinos Mitoglou scored 10 points, but no other Wake Forest players scored in double figures. Meanwhile, Boston College had four players who scored in double figures.

Wake Forest will finish the ACC regular season with a regular season record of 13-18, 5-13 in the ACC. As a result of Miami's 82-61 victory at Virginia Tech, Wake Forest will play the Virginia Tech Hokies on Tuesday of the ACC Tournament. Wake will be favored in that game and the winner will play Miami.  Boston College will play Georgia Tech.
