The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were back at home inside Purcell Pavilion on Saturday to take on the Robert Morris Colonials after a tough loss on the road to the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Irish found the game against Robert Morris to be a much easier task, and handily beat the Colonials 92-57.
Sophomore Dane Goodwin lead the Irish in scoring with 18 points going 6-8 from the field and 5-5 from the free throw line. Prentiss Hubb and T.J. Gibbs continued their improvement shooting the ball together as they shot for a combined 6-11 for 3 and had a combined 28 points. John Mooney got back to his double-double duty with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Juwan Durham scored 8 points and had 3 blocked shots.
The game was what it was... an excellent way to get into a groove to start their non-conference schedule. At 1-1 now, the Irish will welcome the Howard Bison to South Bend on Tuesday for a 7:00 game.
