Chris Lykes was the difference-maker for the Hurricanes, as he finished with 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting. The Canes built a 27-point lead in the first half, but the Illini chipped away in the second half. Illinois had a chance to tie in the closing seconds, but Lykes stepped up and drew an offensive foul to essentially seal the win.
