The Seminoles had to overcome a late surge by the Hokies to get the 77-74 victory. Virginia Tech went on an 11-1 run in the final two minutes to tie up the game. Primo Spears was fouled on a drive to the hoop with 1.7 seconds to go, and he hit both free throws to put FSU up by two. Nine Seminoles players scored at least five points. Jaylan Gainey, Primo Spears, and Cameron Corhen each scored 11 points to lead the Seminoles. Sean Pedulla scored 26 points to lead Virginia Tech.
