After Duke routed Bradley tonight 83-48 without their freshman point guard, Mike Krzyzewski dropped a bomb in his postgame press conference that might have ripples across the college basketball landscape. A few tweets that told the story...
@starnewsacc: Coach K just said that Kyrie Irving's injury is a serious one and he could possibly be out for the season. Won't know until further tests.
@BlueDevilNation: Coach K just said that Kyries injury was serious and he would see specialist this weekend and they'd go from there.
@AGoldFan: K: Kyrie Irving's injury is a serious one. We'll do what's best for him. And when asked if he could be out for the season, K said, "yes"
Consider me surprised, keep in mind that Irving returned to the game on Saturday after injuring his toe against Butler. I'm speculating, but I remain confident you'll see Kyrie Irving playing on January 2nd against Miami. The fact is, Mike Krzyzewski is speculating, but as I mentioned on Twitter tonight, it won't be the first time that a player has made an amazing return thanks to the Duke Medical System.
I know one thing is for sure, my fantasy draft tomorrow night just got a lot more interesting.
