Some quick thoughts on State's home victory over Morehead State:
- Richard Howell was unstoppable on offense and simply outclassed the Eagles' defenders. He was really in the zone and his energy level has never been better.
- DeShawn Painter continued his fantastic play, going 6-6 from the field and 7-7 from the line. His hard work in the offseason has really paid off, and he is moving himself up in the rotation. His motor never seems to stop or even slow down.
- Lorenzo Brown played a solid game at point guard, again displaying his superb vision and passing ability.
- Scott Wood found his shooting touch, torching the Eagles throughout the first half.
- Alex Johnson hasn't found his range yet, but played an excellent game dishing out assists and not turning the ball over.
- The most impressive aspect of the game tonight was State's ball movement. I don't know that I have ever seen an NC State team move the ball as quickly and effectively. State's zone offense was very good, particularly in the first half.
- The Wolfpack played an excellent defensive game throughout. While the Pack didn't get as many steals as they did against Asheville, State guarded well in the half court and made it difficult for Morehead State to run its offense effectively.
