Only one game on Wednesday night as Maryland defeated Monmouth 71-38. It was clear this was an exam week game as the Terps were shaky to say the least. Maryland turned it over on nearly 40% of possessions in the first half and Monmouth grabbed a high percentage of rebounds on both ends of the floor. Things settled down slightly in the second half, although the turnover % was still higher than desired. Of course Maryland did manage an offensive efficiency of 108 thanks an eFG% of 65.
There were no problems on the defensive end though. Monmouth shot just 21% from the 3 point line and 20% from inside the arc. The 2 point defense was bolstered by Maryland blocking a shot on 13% of their defensive possessions.
Maryland now has 9 days off, playing again on December 21st against Stony Brook.
No ACC action tonight.
