North Carolina vs. Minnesota: The Tar Heels survived their season opener in Minnesota to get the 19-17 victory. UNC kicker Noah Burnette made four field goals in the game, including a 45-yarder with 1:44 left in the game to put the Tar Heels ahead. Minnesota kicker Dragan Kesich had a chance to win the game but missed a 47-yard field goal as time expired. Running back Omarion Hampton had 129 yards on 30 carries and five catches for 17 yards for North Carolina. Wide receiver J.J. Jones was UNC's leading receiver with 52 yards on three receptions.
