The offensive line has not been Wake Forest’s best unit in recent seasons.
To those of you who regularly read this blog, I’m sure that’s not breaking news. In 2014, the unit finished 121st or worst nationally in all 9 of Football Outsiders’ offensive line statistics, and was last in 5 of those 9. Last season, the line was excellent at enabling the backs to convert first downs on third/fourth down plays of 2 yards or shorter, but struggled in most other aspects of line play. What can we expect to see in 2016? I talked with Mark Rogers of Mark Rogers TV to discuss.
In my opinion, this is probably the most important unit to this Wake Forest team. How the line performs will dictate how successful this football team is. The line is fairly young, but it’s also experienced. I am a big fan of Justin Herron, and think that he could be a very nice left tackle for us this season.
Many thanks as always to Mark for having me on. He does a fantastic job covering all things college football. You can follow him on Twitter @MarkRogersTV, and also check out his YouTube channel.
