With the 2013 college football season on the horizon, it's time to start breaking down the good, the bad, and the ugly of the upcoming season. This is all about the best names in the ACC. Stats and talent have absolutely nothing to do with this team. This is all about how cool their name is.
QB
- Gray Crow, Miami In competition for the backup job at Miami. Also similarly named to a species of bird that inhabits New Guinea
RB
- Shadrach Thornton, NC State His first name derives from a book of the bible, rather than a song from the album Paul's Boutique by the Beastie Boys.
- Jela Duncan, Duke Duke's starting running back. His first name also sounds like the gelatin dessert if you said it with a certain accent
FB
- Ebo Entsuah, Florida State He is on their roster, not that you can find much on him. Outside of height, weight, and hometown, you're not going to find much about him.
WR
- Spiffy Evans, Boston College I'm sure BC fans think he looks spiffy in their uniform.
- Tyrek Cheeseboro, Maryland It shouldn't shock you that his nickname is "Cheese."
- Amba Etta-Tawo, Maryland Go ahead and try to find another player that was born in the country of Oman.
TE
- Christo Kourtzidis, FSU I never would have suspected he was from the OC in California.
- Standish Dobard, Miami Hopefully he doesn't have a relative named Fallish.
OL
- Sterling Lovelady, FSU This would also be a solid porn star name.
- Maverick Morris, Clemson He's not really a maverick considering he plays on a team sport such as football.
- Win Homer, Boston College His first name is actually Winthrop.
- Zenel Demhasaj, Pitt I have no idea how to pronounce this name. But he does exist.
- Macky MacPherson, Syracuse Say hello to Macky Mac and the Funky Bunch.
DL
- Ebenezer Ogundeko, Clemson His mom is from Nigeria.
- Godspower Offor, Wake Forest Quite possibly the best name in all of college football.
- Allen Champagne, UNC A fitting name since he's from the French speaking province of Quebec.
- K'Hadree Hooker, NC State I can't imagine there's anyone else out there with the same first name.
LB
- Steele Divitto, Boston College The name just screams toughness.
- M.J. Salahuddin, NC State I always feel sympathy for people who have an easy first name to pronounce, and a tough last name to pronounce. I should know
- Yannick Cudjoe-Virgil, Maryland Another player from a country in which football is not very prevalent: Trinidad.
DB
- Will Likely, Maryland He'll likely be seeing a decent amount of playing time this year for the Terps.
- Sean Paul, NC State So this is what he's doing when he's not putting out albums.
- Quay Mann, Duke His mother's last name is listed as Mann-Hunter.
- Holland Frost, GT I hope he's not cold in person.
K
- Chandler Catanzaro, Clemson Nice use of alliteration.
P
- Hunter Windmuller, Virginia Tech Part of his job as punter is to mull over his kicks with the wind.
LS
- Christian Carpenter, Maryland Sounds like a pretty religious name if you ask me.
