What a game from Duke and North Carolina last night. It had a little of everything from the pre-game moment of silence for Dean Smith, to the unconcious start for Duke, to a terrific comeback from the Heels, to an amazing finish. The good news is we get to do it all again in about 2 weeks.
Elsewhere, Syracuse topped Louisville, who was playing without Chris Jones. Rick Pitino had some harsh words for Jones after the game. On Jones...
Well we missed him a lot, but it's his selfishness that hurt the team. I'm not one that believes in game suspensions. I believe in punishments where you get up in the morning and you lift weights and then you have a curfew at night, but this was not a decision by me. It's all cleared up. He could play the next game if he does what the assistant coaches tell him to do, or he could sit again. And I don't care if he sits the whole season. I could care less. If you're not going to do the right things and act like a Louisville man, then he can move on and try to go to Belgium somewhere.
Pitino didn't mince words about freshman forward Shaqquan Aaron who saw David Levitch take his minutes last night...
He just doesn't have a Louisville attitude. He's not a Louisville man in terms of the way we practice, the way we go about it.
Louisville is headed in the wrong direction at the moment. Pitino is certainly trying to send a message to his players, it remains to be seen if it will be received.
