In another thriller in the quarterfinal round at the 2025 T. Rowe Price ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, the No. 3 seed Clemson Tigers escaped to advance to the semifinals with a 57-54 win over the No. 6 seed SMU Mustangs. Chase Hunter once again came up big for the Tigers, hitting a jumper with just over a minute left to give Clemson a 56-52 lead and then 1-2 foul shots with :03 remaining to give the Tigers a 3-point lead. SMU had one final heave for the tie, but Matt Cross shot was off the mark as the buzzer sounded. Hunter led all scorers with 21 points on 7-13 shooting, including 2-6 from three-point range with 4 rebounds and 3 improbable highlight-worthy blocked shots in the win.
