Running back Adam Choice and tight end Jordan Leggett will miss the Syracuse game.
When the Syracuse Orange play the Clemson Tigers this weekend in Death Valley, the home team will be without their leading rusher. Add running back Adam Choice to the ever-growing list of injured Tigers as he has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
Choice had garnered 218 yards on 50 attempts, scoring one touchdown along the way.
Clemson must have offended some kind of ACL God because Choice is the fourth player to tear his this season, joining fellow running back Zac Brooks, safety Travis Blanks and offensive lineman Oliver Jones. Five if you count freshman Tyshon Dye, who tore his ACL in the off-season.
Freshman Wayne Gallman and junior C.J. Davidson now take over rushing duties for the Tigers. Weirdly, both players come into the game with 198 yards on the season and are coming off a game in which they each rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown. Both got almost as many carries as Choice, so they're capable of handling the extra duty without him.
The aforementioned Dye might also be back in the line-up. According to Dabo, it'll depend on how the freshman looks in practice. Depending on who you asked, Dye was considered one of the top 20 running backs in his recruiting class.
Clemson will also be without the services of tight end Jordan Leggett, who left the Boston College game with a knee injury. According to Dabo, it's a torn meniscus and sprained MCL and he's expected to miss a few weeks. Leggett was fourth on the team with ten receptions for 131 yards and a score.
Choice and Leggett join would-be starting quarterback DeShaun Watson on the sidelines. Watson broke his hand against Louisville and is out for a few more weeks yet. In his place, original starter Cole Stoudt has taken over. On the year, Stoudt is 91-of-147 for 934 yards, one touchdown and two INTs.
Strong safety Robert Smith was also knocked out of the BC game with a knee injury but he's expected to play.
