On a day dedicated to honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces, the men’s basketball programs at Duke and Army West Point announced a future meeting between the Blue Devils and Black Knights in West Point, New York, on Veterans Day in 2025.

The Nov. 11, 2025, matchup will be the 17th meeting between Duke and Army, dating back to the initial contest on Jan. 13, 1932. The first seven games of the series, from 1932-39, were all hosted by the Black Knights, but the Blue Devils’ last trip to West Point was in 1997.

“It’s always an honor to compete against Army, but we’re incredibly excited to have the opportunity to play at Army next year on Veterans Day in honor of all those who have served in our military,” said Duke men’s basketball head coach Jon Scheyer. “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to play at West Point, to be in their culture, to be tested on the road early in the season, and to experience something that’s more meaningful than just a basketball game. Our program has had a longtime connection to Army with Coach K, and I’ve learned every year I’ve been at Duke as a player and assistant coach under Coach K about the principles and values that were instilled in him during his time at West Point. It’s going to be a special day celebrating our two programs and all those who have served in our armed forces.”

In addition to the Veterans Day contest in 2025, the schedule agreement includes a return game at Cameron Indoor Stadium in the fall of 2026, on a date to be determined.

The 2025 contest will be Duke’s first game at Christl Arena in West Point since Nov. 16, 1997, when the Blue Devils opened the 1997-98 season under the leadership of head coach Mike Krzyzewski, a 1969 West Point graduate and 2009 Army Sports Hall of Fame inductee. Krzyzewski left his mark at West Point first as a player and later as the men’s basketball head coach, before leaving to take the head coaching position at Duke in 1980.
