Being a sports fan comes with its highs and its lows. For all the Virginia Tech fans this weekend – losing builds character right? Let’s assume that the Hokie players were focused on their Thursday night game against Miami and maybe that with soothe the pain.
Syracuse was a team that many people- even their own fans – thought were going to go 2-10 for the season. As displayed in Saturday’s game, football is a metal game and the team whose head is in it the most, will pull out the win.
Syracuse came to play. They knew that the Hokies were favored to win. Tech on the other hand let their success get to their heads. While they fought back in the third quarter, the Hokie’s defense did not play as well as past games and a lot of running passes broke through their D-line.
This weekend put Tech back in their place and hopefully they will take this as a lesson to focus on the game at hand and not look too far ahead. The Hokie’s have a solid match this week against Miami; all the fans in Blacksburg are looking for some redemption and win to put them back on the road to a conference championship playoff game.
