I’m starting up a series to get you looking forward to the 2017 college football season. These are 30 most intriguing 2017 college football games featuring an ACC team. We move to (25-21) in this post.
Games 30 – 26 | Games 20 – 16 | Games 15 – 11 | Games 10 – 6 | Games 5 – 1
21) UNC vs Notre Dame, October 7, 2017
Notre Dame is looking to rebound after a 4-8 season, but it’s still an event when they come to your town. On October 7, they head to Chapel Hill in what should be a great atmosphere. We’ve talked about Larry Fedora’s lack of a signature non-conference win before, and a win over Notre Dame would be a nice feather in his cap.
22) Pittsburgh vs Virginia Tech, November 18, 2017
Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech has the makings of burgeoning rivalry. I like the proximity of the schools to each other, and the last 3 games have been highly competitive. This could one of the most intriguing Coastal Division games for years to come.
23) NC State vs South Carolina, September 2, 2017
If NC State head coach Dave Doeren wants to be right back on the hot seat, go ahead and lose to a really mediocre South Carolina team in game 1… Go Ahead Dave lose this game, and see what happens.
24) Boston College vs Notre Dame, September 16, 2017
They call Boston College vs Notre Dame “The Holy War”. Chestnut Hill isn’t known as a football mecca, but they expect a sell out here. The southern schools in the ACC usually have the big game feels, so anytime a northern school can have some too – that’s good for the ACC.
25) Wake Forest vs Appalachian State, September 23, 2017
Wake Forest vs Appalachian State is a real nice regional matchup. App State is coming off a 10 win season, and Wake Forest had one of the more surprising seasons in the ACC going 7-6 with a bowl win. This is one of those under the radar games that is sneaky good.
