The ACC Tournament will be played in Charlotte in 2019 and Greensboro in 2020.

Here's what makes the ACC so savvy.

On Wednesday, the league confirms that the 2017 and 2018 ACC Basketball Tournaments will be played at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The move makes sense on various levels, none as much as finally stamping New York City as an ACC territory.

Of course, the move was met with some backlash by folks in North Carolina, the long-standing homebase of ACC basketball.

So what does the ACC do? On Thursday it appeases all of them by saying "Don't fret, we're coming right back, y'all."

The 2019 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, and the Greensboro Coliseum will play host to the event in 2020, ACC Commissioner John Swofford announced today.

"As we look ahead, this continues to be an exciting time for our conference," Swofford said. "The variety of future locations of the ACC Tournament reflects our conference’s expanded footprint and will service our teams, schools, alumni and fan bases well."

And so, just so you can start booking your hotels now, here's how the ACC Tourney plays out over the next six seasons.

2015 – Greensboro Coliseum; Greensboro, N.C.
2016 – Verizon Center; Washington, D.C.
2017 – Barclays Center; Brooklyn, N.Y.
2018 – Barclays Center; Brooklyn, N.Y.
2019 – Time Warner Cable Arena; Charlotte, N.C.
2020 – Greensboro Coliseum; Greensboro, N.C.
