The NC State Wolfpack made it 4 wins in a row over the rival North Carolina Tar Heels with a dramatic 35-30 win in Chapel Hill. The 4th quarter saw 4 lead changes before Hollywood Smothers put the Pack ahead for good with a short touchdown run. C.J. Bailey was extremely efficient in the win, completing 14-20 passes for 296 total yards with 2 passing scores while Smothers rushed the ball 13 times for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns for Dave Doeren's crew. Jacolby Criswell played well for the Heels in Mack Brown's final home game as head coach of the Heels. Criswell completed 18-33 passes for 277 total yards and 3 passing touchdowns and Omarion Hampton had another amazing day with 185 rushing yards and 78 receiving yards with a score on the ground and through the air in the loss.
