Florida State landed two intriguing prospects for their 2017 recruiting class, as a pro-style quarterback and outside linebacker, both from Florida, decided to stay in-state in Tallahassee.
Quarterback James Blackmon and linebacker DeMarco Artis announced their commitment to Florida State earlier in this week, joining the 2017 recruiting class for the Seminoles.
Artis, a 6-foot-3, 220 pound prospect from Seminole High School in Florida, announced over social media that he would be heading to FSU.
"To all the UCF fans, coaches, and fellow commits.. I apologize but I have to do what's best for me, my family, and my future. I appreciate you all for welcoming me into the UCFamily but a once in a lifetime opportunity and a dream come true present itself at Florida State University. With that being said, I'm announcing that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Florida State University. Once a Nole.. Always a Nole."
Blackman, a 6-foot-4, 165 pound quarterback from Glades Central will also be joining the Seminoles class.
Last year, Blackman thre for 2,111 passing yards and 24 touchdowns as a junior. He is also the second commitment at the quarterback position for the Seminoles, joining Bailey Hockman who committed back in April.
