We told you over a week ago, the ACC Network was a go. We reiterated that on our most recent site podcast when we previewed the Virginia Tech football season. Yet the rumors persisted, that the ACC Network could in trouble. During the realignment rumor era of the early part of the era, the ACC tended to let rumors get out ahead of reality. They were more reactive, rather than pro-active squelching rumors. Perception is a big thing in the social media age.
I think a lesson was learned back then, because the ACC put this latest rumor to bed in a hurry. @DavidGlennShow released this in a recent tweet.

Internal @theACC memo sent today reflects @espn assurances that ACC has "total confirmation" of ACC Network launch (Summer 2019). pic.twitter.com/23JdowSXM4
This may have been in response Jim Miller – a writer who authored the book that profiles ESPN, Those-Guys-Have-All-Fun .
Will the ACC Network launch as planned in 2019? @Cuse AD John Wildhack says yes. @JimMiller says don’t count on it. https://t.co/cmgUGsDFyq

I won’t pile on Mr. Miller. I’m sure he’s a fine writer, and knows the media industry quite well. I’m just going to say, nice job by the ACC to get out ahead of some potential PR ugliness.
