Malik Mueller is the most recent player to transfer from Virginia Tech. Mueller continued the exodus of players recruited by former coach James Johnson to leave the university. The Hokies didn't take long in replacing him either, as Buzz Williams added a JUCO player in Tyrone Outlaw.
Another player is leaving the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team, but a high-scoring transfer from a junior college is coming aboard.
Virginia Tech announced Friday that swingman Malik Mueller has decided to transfer.
His scholarship will be taken by guard/forward Tyrone Outlaw, who said Friday that he signed a letter of intent with Virginia Tech “a week or two ago.” Tech has not yet announced his signing.
