Super Bowl 53 is getting closer and the playoffs aren’t far away at this stage in the competition. In this post we want to look at the latest odds for the NFL teams and see where things stand and where you should be placing your money if you are planning to do some NFL sports betting in the coming weeks and in the lead up to the playoffs and next year’s Lombardi trophy winners.

Super Bowl 53 Odds and The NFL Teams To Bet On

The Saints are the current favorite NFL team to win it all, but have they got what it takes to lift the Lombardi trophy? At the start of the season, the Saints offense was unstoppable but that seems to have dipped in the last couple of weeks. It’s amazing how quickly things can change in the NFL and each contender for the trophy has its own issues to contend with. Here’s a look at the latest NFL team standing as they head into the next week of this tournament.

We’re over the halfway point now in the 2018-19 NFL Season and the top contenders for the trophy are the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and the New Orleans Saints. No other team has better odds for the Lombardi trophy and all of these teams have won at least seven of their games. These teams are also first in place in the division and have point differentials of more than 60 points. These are the cream of the crop but do their odds hold any value when it comes to placing a wager at legal betting site in Canada. Let’s take a look at the odds as they stand for each of the teams below.

  • New Orleans Saints: This team has odds of 7/4 and many people are wondering if Drew Brees and Dak Prescott switched bodies in Dallas when the two teams met a number of weeks ago. Brees has thrown for 328 yards and had two touchdowns.
  • Los Angeles Rams: The odds for this team are 7/2 and it seems that the Rams ran into the resurrected ’85 Bears defense. Jared Goff tossed four picks and Todd Gurley was held to 28 yards rushing. With an easy three-game stretch to close the season, this should heal all the wounds they are currently feeling.
  • Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs have odds of 9/2, but they don’t have Kareem Hunt on the field. It shouldn’t pose a problem though as they piled up 441 yards against the Ravens defense which is very tough. If it wasn’t for a three-point loss to the Patriots in Week 6, the Chiefs would be undefeated and more than likely the favorites to win the Super Bowl. The defense has been their problem allowing an average of more than 25 points per game. It hasn’t really mattered though because the offense has been putting up the numbers. Patrick Mahomes is the MVP favorite and the offense is averaging 36.3 points per game. If offense wins the game, Andy Reid’s team is going to test this.
  • New England Patriots: Coming in with odds of 6/1, the Patriots have had six straight wins over division leaders Kansas City and Chicago. Against the Dolphins they let the first half clock run out and the coach gave up a last play miracle. They remain undefeated and they are once again positioned to win the AFC East for the 15th time in 16 years. The win against the Chiefs could act as a tiebreaker in determining which of these NFL teams gets home-field advantage in the AFC. If the Patriots and the Chiefs play a rematch with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, will you want to bet against Brady and Belichick? We predict that the Patriots are going to be among the best at the end of the season.
  • Los Angeles Chargers: The odds for this team are 8/1 and they already have more wins than a lot of the teams, 10 to be exact. We expect to see them in the final weeks.
  • Chicago Bears: The odds are set t 16/1 and while Mitchell Trubisky was a little shaky in his return, if the Bears continue to play defense as they did against the Rams it won’t matter. Trubisky has been inconsistent but has shown some flares of brilliance especially in his six-touchdown performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4. Khalil Mack has been sidelined with an ankle injury for the past two games and he looked like a good candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year back in September which five sacks, four forced fumbles and a pick-six. The Bears will be a dangers team when the playoffs start if Trubisky’s play is like his performance against the Buccaneers.
  • Dallas Cowboys: The odds are set at 20/1 for this team and they’ve had five in a row now and it looks like the Amari Cooper trade could be the greatest in-season move we’ve ever seen.
  • Houston Texans: This team also has odds of 20/1. Their nine-gaming winning streak has been broken but they still control the AFC South.

The remaining NFL team odds look as follows:

  • Pittsburgh Steelers 25/1
  • Seattle Seahawks 25/1
  • Baltimore Ravens 40/1
  • Minnesota Vikings 50/1
  • Denver Broncos 100/1
  • Indianapolis Colts 100/1
  • Tennessee Titans 100/1
  • Miami Dolphins 200/1
  • Carolina Panthers 300/1
  • Green Bay Packers 300/1
  • Philadelphia Eagles 300/1
  • New York Giants 1000/1
  • Washington Redskins 1000/1
  • Cleveland Browns 2000/1
  • Detroit Lions 2000/1
  • Cincinnati Bengals 5000/1
