There was no chance than all five of the Syracuse Orange's Class of 2013 would become starts ala The Fab Five. But anyone with any hopes of seeing our five on the floor together will have to shelve that idea for at least a year.
Incoming freshman center Chinonso Obokoh will redshirt the 2013-2014 basketball season, per Jim Boeheim.
Chinonso Obokoh, the 6-foot-10 freshman from Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, will redshirt this season, said Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim.
Obokoh, a native of Nigeria, learned late last summer that the NCAA would permit him to enroll in classes at SU. He will be allowed to practice with the Orange this year, but will not be permitted to play in games.
Obokoh would have been the fourth big man in the lineup behind Christmas, Coleman and Keita. Boeheim clearly thinks he's fine with that trio and, well, so be it.
Keita graduates after this season, lining it up perfectly for Obokoh to take that spot next season.
