It's a pretty good day to be Tyler Ennis. The freshman was named to the Naismith Midseason 30 (finalists for the award) along with ACC Preseason Player of the Year and our favorite headband, C.J. Fair.
Seriously, it's about time to rename this blog "Tyler Ennis is an Absolute Demigod" or something. After his miraculous shot that has put all of Orange Nation in a tizzy, the freshman point guard was named to the Naismith trophy's Midseason Thirty along with C.J. Fair, who had a pretty big role last night as well. The two Orange and 28 other players are all in the running to win the award handed out to the men's player of the year in collegiate basketball.
Fair is leading the Orange in minutes (37.3/game) and points per game (16.7) while being the most consistent players on the floor. Ennis, theatrics aside, has been the leader on the floor for the Orange with 5.6 assists per game and arguably the most valuable player for the Orange so far.
The two Cuse athletes make up half of the ACC's representation on the list (Jabari Parker, Duke and Lamar Patterson, Pitt) with Ennis being one of six freshmen on the list.
I have no idea if either one of these guys can catch up to favorite Doug McDermott but hey! Good to see these two guys recognized for outstanding play.
