What are the big questions for week 9?
Can Syracuse put the Clemson loss behind them ahead of the game with Notre Dame?
Syracuse went to Clemson had had the Tigers on the ropes until the final seconds of the game. They proved a lot in that game, but Syracuse can’t let that game become two losses. Erratic, but talented Notre Dame is coming to Syracuse. This is a winnable game for Cuse, but they have to be prepared every bit, as well as they were for Clemson. Beating the Irish is always worth something, and for Syracuse, it’s all about putting the Clemson loss behind them.
Does North Carolina take control of the Coastal Division?
North Carolina hosts reeling Pittsburgh this weekend. If the Heels can defeat Pittsburgh, they will be in complete control of the Coastal Division. North Carolina is ranked and has already defeated arguably the Coastal’s second-best team in Duke. The Coastal is there for the taking for UNC. Now they just have to take the division that no one else seems to want.
What will life look like for NC State after Devin Leary?
For NC State Devin Leary isn’t coming back and it looks Jack Chambers will be the guy. I think the game loss against Syracuse was just a bad setup for the Wolfpack. Syracuse had 2 weeks to prepare, it was on the road, and Chambers was thrown into the fire. Now with Virginia Tech at home, and coming off a BYE week NC State should have had a chance to adjust things on offense. If NC State struggles with a bad Virginia Tech team, I think that would be a very concerning sign for NC State going forward. This game will tell us a lot about how NC State couldfor be the rest of the season.
