Rivals.com released its latest edition of the Rivals150, and North Carolina commit Coby White has made a considerable jump in the rankings.
The Rivals150, a system that ranks high school players one through one hundred and fifty, is updated at various times throughout the year and sheds light on how a particular player is progressing in his career and advancing in his recruitment.
Over the last year, class of 2018 combo guard Coby White has been moving up recruiting boards throughout the college basketball world.
Rivals’ updated ranking is just the latest publication to confirm what we already knew; that White’s initial ranking was far too low.
Now, after moving up from No. 69 to No. 31, White seems to be getting closer to where scouts and coaches feel like he should be.
The 6-foot-4, 170-pound North Carolina native had an impressive junior season for Greenfield School, leading his team to a 23-11 record and an appearance in the North Carolina Independent Schools’ 1A semifinal. He was also an NCISAA 1A all-state pick after averaging 31.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
He also had a terrific run with Team CP3 on the AAU circuit, leading his team to a league-best 13-3 record.
He’s been the recipient of a number of other accolades including being tabbed as the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina, the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year and All-EYBL second team honors.
