It wasn't pretty, but Syracuse managed to avoid being the second ACC team to lose to St. Francis (NY) this season. The Orange were in a tight game throughout against a team that beat Miami 66-62 to open their season. Unlike UNC the night before, Syracuse managed to make enough plays down the stretch to win a close one.
Virginia Tech's win on Monday night was worth mentioning solelly for putting up 105 points in their win over VMI. The Hokies saw the return of CJ Barksdale from a 3 game suspension. Barksdale scored 16 points in his season opener, while Jarell Eddie (21 points) and Ben Emelogu (19 points) led Virginia Tech.
Duke cruised past UNC Asheville 91-55 while Jabari Parker posted another "ho-hum" double-double. Wake Forest defeated Jacksonville 90-83 and Miami picked up a nice win Charleston over College of Charleston 70-54. Miami freshman James Kelly was impressive, leading the Canes with 18 points, in the Hurricanes win.
