The ACC had 3 double-digit wins (well, almost) on Wednesday night. The best of the three came from NC State who bounced back from their loss to Wofford by beating Tennessee 65-56. Ok, not double-digits, but close enough for the intro. Ralston Turner was the star for the Pack, scoring 33 points and making 8 3's on the night. The Pack posted an offensive efficiency of 137 in the victory notching their top offensive performance of the season.
The key to FSU's 93-77 win over UNF was the way they shared the ball. The Seminoles had an assist on 74% of their field goals which was well above their 48% rate that they entered the game with. Montay Brandon led the way with 24 points and 8 assist.
Pitt was also victorious on Wednesday night, but unlike the other two ACC teams, the Panthers did it with defense. Pitt forced Manhattan into a turnover on 31% of possessions and turned that into 23 points off turnovers. Jamel Artis led Pitt with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Tonight, Duke takes UConn in a game that looked a bit better before the season started. The Huskies are just 4-3 on the season with losses to West Virginia, Yale, and Texas. That said, Duke is coming off their most lackluster performance of the season in a victory over Elon on Monday night. Will the Blue Devils be able to bounce back?
Virginia is also in action, hosting a Cleveland State team that the Cavaliers should dispose of rather easily.
