ACC basketball teams split two games on Sunday with UVA topping Harvard in a dominating performance and BC dropping a disappointing game to USC at home.
Virginia allowed Harvard to score just 1 field goal in the first half and defeated the Ivy League school 76-27. Virginia is playing as well as anyone in the nation at the moment.
Boston College didn't have the same luck as the Eagles lost to USC 75-71. Boston College fans had a flashback to the poor defense that haunted them over the last few seasons. USC posted an eFG% near 60% and most notably made 61% of their 2 point shots in the win at BC.
The news also came out on Sunday evening that the ACC has suspended Louisville's Montrezl Harrell for throwing a punch in the Cardinals' game versus Western Kentucky. Fortunately, Louisville takes on Cal State Northridge tomorrow meaning Harrell will be back in time to play against Kentucky on Saturday.
Tonight, we have several matchups for ACC teams as they have their last chance to play a game prior to Christmas. Perhaps the most critical game of the night is Miami taking on Providence in Brooklyn. The Hurricanes are coming off of a cataclysmic performance in which they lost by 28 to Eastern Kentucky. Miami made under 30% of their 2 point attempts in that game against an Eastern Kentucky team that isn't exactly a shot-blocking machine.
