Clemson needed a win last night to keep their resume clean, but instead lost at Wake Forest 62-57. The Demon Deacons have been a tough team at home for most of the year, but the selection committee likely will look at this poor loss. Oddly enough, it was the Clemson defense that let down the Tigers on Tuesday night. Clemson allowed Wake Forest to shoot 55% from the floor, 67% from 2 point range in the loss.
In the other game of the day, Duke jumped out to a fast start at home against Virginia Tech but couldn't shake the Hokies. The Blue Devils ended up with a 66-48 victory, but the Blue Devils looked like a team playing its 5th game in 11 days. One trend that appears to be holding true is Duke's proclivity to shoot the 3. The Blue Devils came into the game taking 40% of their shots from long range, but on Tuesday night the Blue Devils took 53% of their shots from 3. Hood led the way with 21 points in the victory.
Tonight, we have 4 games on the ACC schedule. Three of the ACC's top 5 teams are in action tonight. All 3 are predicted to win by Game Sim, but UNC by just 2 points and Pitt by the narrowest of margins.
