A look at the ACC standings on this Monday morning and we're almost halfway through the conference schedule. Syracuse and Virginia have emerged as the two front-runners for the regular season crown. Virginia picked up a win at Pitt on Sunday thanks to a Malcolm Brogdon 3 pointer in the final second. While the UVA players get credit for executing, Tony Bennett did exactly what you hope your coach would do in that situation. When you consider Bennett got his most effective scorer the ball for a uncontested shot, that's coaching. Virginia wins 48-45 and moves to 8-1 in conference play, while Pitt drops to 6-3.
The ACC suffered injuries to a number of players this weekend. Look for updates this week as I get them on the following players...
- Trae Golden, Georgia Tech, next game on Tuesday
- Codi Miller-McIntyre, Wake Forest, next game on Tuesday
- Ian Miller, FSU, next game on Wednesday
- Talib Zanna, Pittsburgh, next game on Wednesday
Notre Dame makes the trip to the Carrier Dome tonight, and I'm guessing there won't be 35,000+ there. Syracuse will have to avoid a letdown after the fantastic Duke game on Saturday night. Notre Dame comes in with nothing to lose and playing at a place they should be fairly comfortable. Check out links, highlights, and more below to get you ready.
