On Sunday, Miami avoided over-looking Georgia Tech and beat the Jackets 75-68. Sheldon McClellan led the Canes with 22 points on 7-9 shooting, while Davon Reed (15 points) and Ja'Quan Newton (14 points) also chipped in double-figures. Marcus Georges-Hunt led Georgia Tech with 19 points, but it was a 20% turnover rate that killed Georgia Tech. Those turnovers led to 18 Miami points which ultimately proved too much for Georgia Tech to overcome.
Tonight, we have two really good games in the ACC. At 7 o'clock, Duke hosts Louisville as both teams are coming off of Saturday wins. Louisville hopes to have Damion Lee back tonight. Lee missed Saturday's game against Boston College due to a bruised knee. Duke is still playing without Amile Jefferson although in looking at his timeline, he should be close to returning. I'm still guessing Saturday's game against UVA is the game to watch for Jefferson's return. Vegas has Duke by 4.5 and Game Sim has the Blue Devils by 6.
The 9 o'clock game has two bubble teams in Notre Dame and Clemson. The Irish are coming off of a big victory on Saturday night, and have a quick turnaround trip to South Carolina to face the Tigers. Brey will have his work cut out to have his team ready after an emotional win over North Carolina. Clemson is coming off of a road loss to Virginia Tech, and needs to bounce back with a win to keep their tournament hopes alive.
